Jones Rocks

The Jones Rocks are rocky outcrops on the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land . They tower on the east coast of the Bay of Winds about 6 km southwest of the Avalanche Rocks .
It was discovered during the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . They are named after Sydney Evan Jones (1887–1948), medical officer on this expedition.
