Joost Korte

Joost Korte (* 1958 ) is a Dutch EU civil servant and has been Director General of the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Union since March 2018 .

Joost Korte studied law with a master's degree from the University of Utrecht . After working in the university sector, he joined the European Commission in 1991. From 2002 to 2004 he was Deputy Head of Cabinet of Commissioner Chris Patten , then until 2007 as head of cabinet for Danuta Hübner . He moved to the General Secretariat of the Commission, where he was Director from 2009 to 2011. From 2012 to 2014 he was Deputy Director General in Directorate General Enlargement, then Deputy Director General in Directorate General Agriculture.
