Jordhamn beach on Kalmar Strait

Jordhamn is a village belonging to the municipality of Borgholm on the Swedish island of Öland in the Baltic Sea .

The village with fewer than 50 inhabitants (as of 2005) is located directly on Kalmar Sound on the west coast of the island, a few kilometers north of Sandvik .

The place is known for the Jordhamn scrubbing mill to the north of the place , the last remaining scrubbing mill in Sweden. Limestone is mined north of the village . There are a small number of accommodation establishments in the village.
