Jorge Antunes
Jorge Antunes (born April 23, 1942 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian composer of new music .
Jorge Antunes studied violin , composition and conducting at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro .
He was the first contemporary Brazilian musician to consistently use the possibilities of electronic music from 1961 . This music was called Música Cromofônica . Since 1973 he has been a professor at the Universidade de Brasília . On October 14, 2006, his opera "Olga" was premiered at the Theatro Municipal in São Paulo . With a libretto by Gerson Valle , the opera shows the life of Olga Benario-Prestes .
