Jorma Puranen

Jorma Puranen (* 1951 in Pyhäjoki , Finland ) is a Finnish photographer from the Helsinki School.

Life

Jorma Puranen studied from 1973 to 1978 at the University of Art and Design Helsinki , where he later taught for a few years.

In 2005 he was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal.

Well-known series of works are Shadows, Reflections and All That Sort of Thing , Icy Prospects and Imaginary Homecoming . His work is represented in European museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum , the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, the Hasselblad Foundation, the Stedelijk Museum , the Moderna Museet and the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart .
