José Alberto Martínez
José Alberto Martínez Trinidad (born September 10, 1975 in San Sebastián ) is a former Spanish cyclist .
José Alberto Martínez began his professional career in 1998 with the Basque cycling team Euskaltel-Euskadi . A year later he was able to draw attention to himself for the first time at the Midi Libre with third place in the overall ranking and a stage win. He won a stage in the Burgos Tour in 2000. In 2002 he was able to win the strong Critérium International . After six years he moved to the Spanish team Relax-Fuenlabrada . He stayed there only a year before joining the French Professional Continental Team Agritubel . At the Critérium International 2006 he won the final time trial. His lead over the eventual overall winner Ivan Basso was only one second. He later won the highly categorized Bayern Tour in front of Beat Zberg . After the 2007 season he ended his career.
