José Antonio Cuburu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

José Antonio Cuburu Cano (born June 23, 1925 in Orizaba , Veracruz ; † May 8, 2005 ibid), also known by the nickname El Perro , was a Mexican football player who acted on the offensive . He began his professional career in the Mexican Primera División with his hometown club ADO and later moved to Puebla FC .

El Perro was the younger brother of Martín Cuburu , who was champion with España , and the older brother of Samuel Cuburu , who was also under contract with Puebla FC and participated in the 1950 World Cup.

Allegedly, José Antonio Cuburu was also scheduled for the 1950 World Cup squad. But a broken collarbone just before the big tournament broke that dream.
