Martín Cuburu Cano (* in Orizaba , Veracruz ; † unknown) was a Mexican football player who mainly acted in attack . Among other things, he was under contract with Real Club España and was twice champion of the old Primera Fuerza with this club (1939/40 and 1941/42). The last time he played in the service of the Españistas was in the 1942/43 season. It was also the last season of the old capital league before the introduction of the professional league from the beginning of the 1943/44 season. In the cup competition of the same season (1942/43), which took place in connection with the 1942/43 league season, Cuburu was already under contract with his home club UD Moctezuma de Orizaba and won the Copa México with him . In the final against Atlante (5: 3 after extra time) Cuburu had scored two goals and he also played the subsequent Supercup final , which was lost to Marte by a late goal from Alberto Mendoza in the 88th minute with 0: 1 .

In the first season of the new Primera División (1943/44) Cuburu played for the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz and in the following season 1944/45 for his other hometown club Asociación Deportiva Orizabeña , before he returned to Moctezuma for the 1945/46 season and under scored all six goals in the 6-0 win against Monterrey on August 26, 1945. Three months later he was successful five times in a 6-1 win against San Sebastián on November 25, 1945.

In the 1946/47 season Cuburu was under contract with Club Marte and in his last season 1947/48 with Puebla FC .

Martín Cuburu was the older brother of the equally successful football player José Antonio Cuburu , who was supposed to be nominated for the 1950 World Cup and allegedly only missed it because of a serious injury, and Samuel Cuburu , who participated in the 1950 World Cup.
