José Antonio García Calvo (born April 1, 1975 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish football player .

Career

The Madrilene started his career at Real Madrid . In 1994 he joined Los Blancos' B team . In 1995 he was brought into the senior team Reals. From 1997 to 2001 Calvo played at Real Valladolid . The Spaniard played for Atlético Madrid from 2001 to 2006 . The central defender can also play in left and right defense. At Atletico, Calvo has always been one of the leading players. In the summer of 2006 García Calvo moved to the second division Real Valladolid with whom he achieved promotion to the first division at the first attempt.

Calvo has played three times in the Spanish national team so far, he made the jump within the European Championship qualification 2002-2004 for the European Championship in Portugal .
