Fabián Ramírez

José Benito Cabrera also known as Fabián Ramírez (born July 6, 1963 , El Paujil , Caquetá ) is a former high-ranking commander of the FARC .

Life

Ramírez was a member of the FARC's 30-strong leadership team. He participated in the peace negotiations with the government between 1998 and 2002. A reward of $ 2.5 million was offered on his head.

In 2010 it was reported that Ramírez was killed along with five other suspected FARC members in a skirmish near San Vicente del Caguán . This turned out to be wrong when he gave an interview to British journalist Karl Penhaul in 2013.
