José Luis Piñar Mañas

José Luis Piñar Mañas (* 1957 in Madrid ) is a Spanish legal scholar .

He is Professor of Public Law at Complutense Universities in Madrid and Georgetown University, and former Dean of the Law Faculties of the Universities of Castile-La Mancha and the Universities of San Pablo CEU Madrid.

From 2002 to 2007, José Luis Piñar Mañas was Director of the Spanish Data Protection Agency Agencia Española de Protección de Datos and Vice-Chair of the Article 29 Data Protection Working Party .

Since 2014 he has been a member of an eight-person advisory board with external experts from European countries that Google Inc. founded to implement the ECJ ruling of May 13, 2014 on the right to be forgotten and advised the search engine operator on the development of a deletion guide should.
