José Maria Matrés Manso (* 1954 in Spanish Guinea ) is a Spanish diplomat .

Career

In 1981 Manso graduated from law school and started working for the Spanish diplomatic service. He worked in the Spanish representations in Iran , the People's Republic of China , Japan , Canada and Sweden . He was Deputy Director General for Multilateral Economic Relations and Cooperation, Second Head of the Embassy of Spain in Thailand and Consul General of Spain in Shanghai , Oran and Caracas . He was Director of Schengen Affairs in the Directorate General for Consular Affairs and Assistance and was appointed Consul General of Spain in São Paulo in 2010. From January 2013 he was Spain’s ambassador to Mali before becoming ambassador to Indonesia in 2017 . On February 22nd, Manso also gave his accreditation to the President of East Timor .
