José Posada-Charrúa

José Posada-Charrúa (* 1940 in Rivera ( Uruguay )) is a Uruguayan-German music and dance teacher and composer.

Career

After studying in Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, USA and Portugal as well as working as a primary school teacher in Uruguay, Posada came in 1964 to complete his studies at the Carl Orff Institute in Salzburg . After graduation he worked as a teacher at the music school in Frankfurt / Main. In 1975 he was appointed professor for rhythm at the Folkwang University in Essen. In 1981 he switched to a professorship for aesthetic education (focus on music, dance and game education) at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and finally went to EFH RWL Bochum in 1985 with the same focus , where he worked until his retirement in 2006. José Posada holds courses, workshops and courses around the world. He worked as a guest lecturer at various universities in Russia and at the Art University of La Havana / Cuba. He was committed to the Benposta Children's Republic in Spain and, together with Hans Bohmann, published a report on the history of this institution.
