Joscelin de Montoiron

Joscelin de Montoiron († 1190 before Acre ) was a vice count of Châtellerault and a crusader . His family origin is unclear, he is occasionally associated with the Montoire family .

He first documented in 1188 as Vice Count of Châtellerault from the right of his wife, the widow of Vice Count Wilhelm who died shortly before. He should be the guardian of his stepson Hugo III. have officiated. Joscelin took part in the third crusade and reached the siege of Acre in the autumn of 1189 with an advance command . During the siege he assisted the Bishop of Salisbury, Hubert Walter , in gathering food for the poor and starving knights. In the further course of the siege he died himself in 1190.
