Josef Dittmeier

Josef Dittmeier (born September 17, 1919 in Morlesau , † March 4, 1990 in Plattling ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

The Dittmeier family moved to Plattling in 1926 after their father had been transferred. Josef attended elementary and vocational school in Plattling. In 1934 he began as a junior helper at the Plattling train station and worked there in various branches of service until 1939. During the Second World War he was a member of the Wehrmacht, was deployed in France , Russia and the Netherlands and was wounded four times. In 1945 he was a prisoner of war in England for a few months. Dittmeier later became politically active: he was a member of the city council of Plattling, the district council of the Deggendorf district , from 1962 to the district council of Lower Bavaria and from 1970 to 1978 the Bavarian state parliament .
