Josef Fritz (politician, 1926)

Josef Fritz (born March 7, 1926 in Mittelberg ; † July 15, 1975 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and tax advisor. From 1959 to 1964 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Fritz attended grammar school in Mehrerau and graduated from Bregenz in 1944 . He was then called up for military service and served between 1944 and 1945 in World War II. After his return from the war he studied law at the University of Innsbruck from 1946 to 1950 and received his doctorate in law on December 16, 1950. He also completed a high school graduate course at the Innsbruck Commercial Academy from 1949 to 1950 . From 1951 to 1954 Fritz worked as a trainee for the Chamber of Public Accountants in various law firms until he started his own business as a tax consultant in July 1954 by founding a public accountancy firm.

Politics and functions

Like his father, Fritz was involved in local politics and was elected to the Mittelberg municipal council in 1955, to which he was a member until 1975. From 1955 to 1965 he was a member of the Trade and Industry Committee, from 1960 to 1975 a member of the Finance Committee and from 1965 to 1975 a member of the Hunting and Fishing Committee. He also held the office of Vice Mayor from 1955 to 1975. As a member of the electoral district of Bregenz , he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from October 29, 1959 to October 28, 1964, where he was a member of the Legal and Immunity Committee and a member of the Education Committee.

In addition to his membership of the Austrian People's Party, Fritz was also a member of the Economic Association and was active there as a member of the regional management of the Vorarlberg Economic Association. In the ÖVP he worked from 1962 as local party chairman of the ÖVP Kleinwalsertal , he was also a member of the ÖVP district party leadership Bregenz and member of the state party leadership of the ÖVP Vorarlberg. Furthermore, he was a member of the CV connection “Leopoldina” Innsbruck, active on the supervisory board of the Kleinwalsertaler Bergbahnen AG and chairman of the Komadschaftsbund Kleinwalsertal.

Private

Josef Fritz was born the son of the mayor of Mittelberg, Gedeon Fritz (1892–1950) and his wife Maria Anna Fritz (1891–1969).
