Josef Jobst

Josef Jobst (* 1948 in Ernsthofen ) is an Austrian artist .

Live and act

His talent for drawing was already noticed in elementary school, and in 1961 he won the Federal Youth Painting Competition. Although the art academy was recommended to him, he attended the Bundesgewerbeschule (HTL Hochbau), and he completed wood and linocut with L. Balczarek and assisted set designer Jean-Philippe Christophe. Professionally, he used his drawing talent as a planning builder until he finally became a freelance artist after serious health problems. He has lived and worked in Allhaming, Upper Austria, since 1990.

Jobst draws and paints from realistic to abstract across all isms and styles, always resisting the mainstream and deliberately cannot be classified or classified.

Works by Jobst are u. a. in the art collection of the Province of Upper Austria, in the Museum of the 21st Century in Chouze sur Loire, Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA), Smithonian Museum of Art Washington, Global Health Institute Atlanta, World Health Organization Geneva, Beppu Art Museum Japan, Finding Wings Center for Healing, Paloma Beach, CA, and in many private collections.
