Josef Keller (politician, 1949)

Josef Keller (born January 4, 1949 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Josef Keller studied to become a teacher at primary and secondary schools at the Worms University of Education . From 1973 to 1994 he worked as a teacher in Ludwigshafen, most recently as rector of a primary school. Keller is married and has one child.

In 1967, Keller joined the CDU. 1973/74 he was deputy federal chairman of the ring of Christian-Democratic students . In 1974 he was in the city council elected by Ludwigshafen, where he remained by 2004. From 1992 to 2006 he was chairman of the CDU Ludwigshafen. From 1995 to 2011, Keller was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . There he was chairman of the media policy committee from 1996 to 2001 and until 2009 educational policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.
