Josef Rohata
Josef Rohata (born April 18, 1909 in Mödling , † December 13, 1989 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and printer. Rohata was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1958 to 1969 .
Rohata attended elementary and community school and then completed an apprenticeship as a printer. After the Social Democratic Party was banned in 1934 and 1935, he was arrested for political reasons and was subsequently unemployed from 1934 to 1938. Between 1940 and 1945 he did his military service in World War II, where he was taken prisoner by the British. After the war, Rohata was SPÖ district party secretary from 1945, and from 1955 he also worked as a city councilor in Mödling. From 1965 to 1975 he was a local councilor, and between October 16, 1958 and November 20, 1969 he represented the SPÖ in the state parliament. Rohata was made an honorary citizen of Mödling.
