Josef Siebenlist
Josef Siebenlist (born February 9, 1847 in Preßburg , Kingdom of Hungary , † 1916 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist.
Josef Siebenlist studied medicine , philosophy and law and was also able to successfully complete his studies. He then earned his living first as a freelancer and later as a permanent journalist for the "West Hungarian Border Messenger".
Together with his brother August he later headed the literature section of this newspaper. In 1872 Siebenlist was entrusted with the management of the editorial office of the “Grenzbote” and he only resigned from this position in 1877 when he went to Vienna. There he became an employee of the "News-Weltblatt" and supervised a. a. the obituary series by Benedictine Father Urban Loritz .
In 1890 Siebenlist brought his brother to Vienna and together with him founded the weekly newspaper “Im Salon”.
