Josef Starkl II (born February 4, 1929 in Frauenhofen ; † July 13, 2005 in Druhanice , Czech Republic ) was an Austrian horticultural entrepreneur .

Josef Starkl took over his father's gardening business in 1953. He was the first tree nursery owner to introduce a self-service garden market in Austria. In 1960 he introduced packaging machines for flowers from the USA to Austria. This enabled 10,000 roses to be packaged every day. He was head of the Starkl horticultural family, whose headquarters are in Frauenhofen near Tulln . In October 1991 he took over the Druhanice estate in Czechoslovakia, after his death his son of the same name, Josef III, ran it.
