Josef Straßberger (politician)

Josef Straßberger (born September 27, 1946 in Mürzzuschlag ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and tax officer. Straßberger was a member of the National Council from 1993 to 1994 and a member of the Styrian state parliament from 1994 to 2010 .

education and profession

After completing compulsory school, Straßberger attended the Federal College for Art, Construction, Machine Locksmithing and Technical Drawing. He then joined the Mürzzuschlag tax office and worked as an assessment officer from 1966. He did his military service for 15 months with the Styrian Military Music.

politics

From 1970, Straßberger worked as a staff representative at the Mürzzuschlag tax office and was its chairman for twelve years. In 1990 he was elected to the local council of the market town of Langenwang and in the same year he took over the office of vice mayor, which he held until 2000. He was also a member of the National Council from February 18, 1993 to November 6, 1994 and moved to the Styrian state parliament on November 8, 1994. Within the party, Straßberger also held the function of district chairman of the ÖAAB Mürzzuschlag from 1989 and was district party chairman of the ÖVP Mürzzuschlag from 1992. In the ÖVP state parliament club, Straßberger held the position of spokesman for finances, transport and music schools. On October 21, 2010, Straßberger resigned from the Styrian state parliament because he was no longer running for the 2010 state elections.
