Josef Voithofer

Josef Voithofer (born March 16, 1895 in Goldegg im Pongau , † October 17, 1982 in Schwarzach im Pongau ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and technical inspector of the Austrian Federal Railways . From 1945 to 1961 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Voithofer completed an agricultural training after elementary school and then worked as a farm worker. He then worked as a railway worker and was a technical inspector for the Austrian Federal Railways.

In 1912 he joined the Social Democratic Party, between 1919 and 1934 he was a member of the board of the Salzburg Chamber of Labor. He was also active as a supervisory board member of the consumer cooperative and a functionary of the railway workers' union. Furthermore, he worked as a board member of the Austrian Labor Farmers Association, as a councilor in Schwarzach im Pongau and as a member of the regional party representation of the SPÖ Salzburg. He represented the SPÖ between December 19, 1945 and January 5, 1961 in the National Council.
