Josef Wiesmayr

Josef Wiesmayr (born January 9, 1920 in Melk ; † February 27, 1994 in Linz ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and a hospital employee. Wiesmayr was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1954 to 1979 .

Wiesmayr attended the Melk Abbey High School after primary school and completed his schooling with the Matura . He was drafted into the community in 1939 and drafted into the military in 1940, where he was taken prisoner by the French and did not return until 1946. After his return he returned to the service of the community and from 1950 was a community councilor in Melk. Wiesmayr became district party chairman in 1954 and held the office of vice mayor between 1955 and 1970. He was also the curator of the State Mortgage Institution from 1960 and represented the SPÖ from November 10, 1954 to April 19, 1979 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
