Joseph Huber (Romanist)

Joseph Huber (born September 20, 1884 in Rieden near Bregenz , † October 31, 1960 in Bregenz) was an Austrian Romance studies and linguist .

life and work

Huber studied Romance Philology at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1907 from Wilhelm Meyer-Lübke . He became a secondary school teacher and completed his habilitation in 1919. From 1920 he was an associate professor at the University of World Trade in Vienna and from 1939 to 1945 he was also a full professor at the university.
