Joseph's lust

The Josephslust , a single-storey, two-wing mansard roof building , is located approx. 800 meters northeast of the original town center of Niederraunau . Even today, the new development areas of the village do not yet directly border the Josephslust.

The building was erected in 1790 in the classicism style. The reason for the construction of the inn with a shooting range was the birth of the son Joseph Friedrich of the local lord at the time, Clemens Karl von Freyberg . On the slope on which the house stands are old, vaulted cellars, the former stately beer cellars . The shooting range was demolished in 1801. The excursion industry, which was very popular for a long time, often changed hands in the period from 1803. Today the building has been converted into a residential building. Before the Josephslust was built, the former high court of Niederraunau was located on the site .

The so-called Galgen-Kaspar , a Swabian poacher , was born in this building in 1796 .
