The Jost Mühle is a watermill on the Doiberbach in the cadastral community Windisch-Minihof of the municipality Minihof-Liebau in the Jennersdorf district in Burgenland . It is run as a foam mill and occasionally put into operation as a production mill for orders. It is the last functioning water mill in the Raab-Őrség-Goričko Nature Park in Austria.

history

Originally there were two mills on the Doiberbach: the Einfaltmühle, which was built between Minihof-Liebau and Windisch-Minihof in 1858 on land donated by Countess Antonia Batthyány, and the Jostmühle. The folding mill burned down around 1900. It was rebuilt at the confluence of the Mühlgrabenbach in the Doiberbach, a little upstream and closer to Minihof-Liebau. The Einfalt and Jostmühle, which competed with each other, were built at the same time. However, the Einfaltmühle ceased operations in the 1960s and is now an accommodation business after a renovation. The Jostmühle was kept in operation until 1998, the time when Karl Jost, the last miller and grandson of the builder, retired - but in recent years only on request. Between 2000 and 2002 the mill was revitalized and reopened as a foam mill and cultural center.
