The Jougla Point ( French Presqu'île Jougla , Jougla Peninsula ' ) is a headland on the west coast of Wiencke Island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It forms the west side of the entrance to Alice Creek in Port Lockroy .
Participants of the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot discovered the headland. Charcot thought it was a peninsula and named it accordingly. The namesake is a sponsor of his research trip. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee adapted this designation in 1949 after surveys carried out during Operation Tabarin in 1944 showed that the formation was too small for a peninsula.
