The Journal of Mammalogy (J. Mammal.) Is a zoological journal published by the American Society of Mammalogists . The magazine has been published since 1919 with the 90th issue in 2009; it is currently published six times a year in February, April, June, August, October and December. The magazine has been distributed since 2000 and number 81 has also been distributed via BioOne .

The journal covers all areas of mammalian science ( mammalogy ). Accordingly, it contains scientific articles on all aspects of mammalian biology , including a. Ecology , behavioral biology , morphology , physiology , taxonomy , environmental protection and molecular biology . The articles are subjected to a peer review ; the impact factor was 1.558 in 2016, and the five-year average was 2.304.
In 2009, the Journal of Mammalogy was named one of the 100 Most Influential Biology and Medicine Journals by the BioMedical & Life Sciences Division of the Special Libraries Association .
