Journey of the Sorcerer

Journey of the Sorcerer is a track from the Eagles' fourth album, One of These Nights , from 1975. It was later used as theme music for the BBC- produced English radio drama series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams known from the years 1978 and 1979. Adams wanted something for the theme music that on the one hand represented science fiction , but on the other also reminded of a hitchhiker . He finally decided on Journey of the Sorcerer . The piece was also used in all other implementations of the novel, including in the TV series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy from 1981. Most recently, it was rearranged and recorded for the feature film of the same name in 2005 by Joby Talbot .
