Joy Alphonsus
Joy Anwulika Alphonsus (born August 31, 1987 in Nigeria ) is a Nigerian actress living in Austria .
Life
Alphonsus made her acting debut in the Austrian feature film Joy by Sudabeh Mortezai , in which she played the title role. The premiere took place on August 30, 2018 as part of the 75th Venice Film Festival , where the film was invited to the Giornate degli Autori section . In November 2018 she was named best actress at the Seville International Film Festival. In January 2019 she was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize in Saarbrücken for her performance .
