Juan Antonio Pérez Mayo
Juan Antonio Pérez Mayo OMI (born November 18, 1907 in Santa Marina del Rey , † July 24, 1936 in Pozuelo , Madrid ) was a Spanish Oblate of the Immaculate Virgin Mary .
He took his first vows in 1927 and was ordained a priest in 1932. He was professor of philosophy in the Oblate Study House in Pozuelo near Madrid. On July 22, 1936, as part of the religious persecution in Spain, he was taken prisoner with his confreres in their own monastery. On July 24, 1936, he was executed along with six other Oblates.
The beatification of the 22 Spanish Oblate Martyrs, including Juan Antonio Pérez Mayo, took place on December 17, 2011 in Madrid Cathedral.
