Juan Carazo

Juan Carazo (born October 10, 1964 in Ponce ) is a retired boxer from Puerto Rico . Carazo played 34 fights over the course of his professional career, winning 25 (including 19 by knockout ) and losing 9.

Life

Carazo won his first professional fights in 1984 all by knockout. In 1989, he competed in Inglewood in a title bout against Gilberto Roman , the reigning WBC junior bantamweight champion . After Carazo had to go down on lap 4, he sent Roman onto the boards a few seconds later. One second before the knockout and Carazo won the world championship, Roman was able to resume the fight and finally won after 12 rounds.
