Gilberto Roman

Gilberto Roman (* 29. November 1961 in Mexicali , Mexico ; † 27. June 1990 ) was a Mexican boxer in the super flyweight .

Professional career

On March 30, 1986 he boxed against Jirō Watanabe for the world title of the association WBC and won by unanimous decision of the judges. He defended this title a total of six times and lost it in May of the following year to Santos Benigno Laciar by knockout.

In April of the following year, however, he was able to win this belt again when he defeated Sugar Baby Rojas by unanimous decision. This time he defended this title five times in a row and lost it on November 7, 1989 against Nana Yaw Konadu kar and unanimously on points.

Roman ended his career the following year.
