Santos Benigno Laciar (born January 31, 1959 in the province of Córdoba , Argentina ) is a former Argentine boxer in the super fly and flyweight . It was managed by Francisco Giordano .

Professional career

On March 28, 1981 he boxed the flyweight against Peter Mathebula for the world championship title of the association WBA and won by technical knockout in round 7. However, he lost this belt in his first title defense in June of the same year to Luis Ibarra on points.

On May 1st of the following year he won this belt for the second time when he defeated Juan Herrera in the 13th round by TKo. He defended this title a total of eight times and put it down in 1985 when he switched to super flyweight. In this weight class , Laciar won the WBC World Championship in May 1987 with a technical knockout victory in the 11th round against Gilberto Roman . However, he lost this in the same year to Sugar Baby Rojas clearly and unanimously on points.
