Peter Mathebula

Peter Mathebula (* 3. July 1952 in the present province of Gauteng , South Africa ; † 18th January 2020 , Gauteng) was a South African boxer in the flyweight .

Professional career

In 1971 he started his professional career successfully. On December 13, 1980, he boxed against Tae-Shik Kim for the WBA World Championship and won by split judge decision. However, he lost this belt in his first title defense to Santos Laciar in March of the following year by knockout.

In 1983 he ended his career. He died on January 18, 2020 after a long illness.
