Juan José Castelli is a city in northern Argentina . It is located in the central west of the Chaco province in the area of the so-called Impenetrable , an impenetrable dry forest , which today, however, has been largely cut down and replaced by cultivated land .

history
The Spaniards settled in the region around Juan José Castelli in the 18th century, they founded three Jesuit reductions in the area . However, the city's founding did not take place until 1930 when a group of immigrants, most of German origin, founded the Colonia Agrícola Juan José Castelli . The colony prospered quickly and was soon connected to the railway network.
In 2005, the region around Juan José Castelli was hit by a devastating drought that made the city headlines across the country.
