Juan López (athlete)

Juan López , full name Juan Jacinto López Testa , (born February 14, 1926 ) is a former Uruguayan athlete .

Career

López was active in the running competitions on the sprint courses. He took part in the university championships in 1943. López, who otherwise lived in the northern Uruguayan city of Tacuarembó throughout his life , joined the Club Estocolmo from Montevideo in 1944 . He was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1948 Olympic Games in London . He reached the semifinals over 100 meters. On the 200-meter course and with the 4-by-100-meter relay, he was eliminated in the heats. López was also the Uruguayan 100 meter champion in his career . In 1949 he ended his career after the Torneo Sudamericano in Paraguay.
