Jubilee waiting room (Bad Vöslau)
The Jubiläumswarte , also known as the Harzberg Tower , in Bad Vöslau in Lower Austria is a lookout tower on the Rudolfshöhe , the summit of the 466 m high Harzberg. From the tower you have a view of the Vienna Basin , the Leithagebirge and the Schneeberg .
The tower was built in 1898 on the occasion of the 50th jubilee of Emperor Franz Josef I built. It is therefore also known as the " Kaiser-Franz-Joseph-Jubiläumswarte " (when it was built: Kaiser-Jubiläumswarte ).
It was built by city architect Anton Kainrath in the sense of the late founding romantic castle as a crenellated, 21 m high observation tower. The costs for the new building amounted to 12,000 guilders , mostly raised through donations.
The ceremonial opening of the building took place on July 10, 1898, in the presence of around 2000 people .
The construction of a restoration was originally planned for the immediate vicinity of the control room. The "Schutzhaus am Harzberg" was built and around 10 Bennet wallabies are kept on a kangaroo farm . Via the forest road from Bad Vöslau you can drive to a parking lot up to approx. 100 m in front of the refuge, alternatively several hiking trails and a mountain bike route lead to the Harzberg.
A hiking trail leads from the Harzberg tower to the Vöslauer Hütte or Bad Vöslau.
