The Judas cradle is a torture tool that is said to have been used in the Middle Ages, but its existence has not been historically proven.

It consists of a three- or four-legged wooden frame that tapers towards the top. The torture victim should be lowered with the buttocks on the tip using a winch. It could be pulled up or down , depending on the interrogator's wishes .

Both the handcuffing and the lifting of the victim resulted in severe pain . The top of the Judas cradle caused injuries to the abdomen . In addition, there was the humiliation of the victim, since it was probably stripped off before the start of the torture.
