Jugnu is an Indian Cubesat (cube-shaped small satellite) that was built by the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur . Its job was to collect data for agriculture and disaster monitoring.
Furnishing
Jugnus main payload is a camera that works in the near infrared and is used for vegetation observation . Also on board is a GPS receiver for position determination and an inertial measuring unit . The satellite is powered by solar cells and batteries.

Jugnu was on 12 October 2011 with an PSLV - launcher along with Megha-Tropiques , VesselSat 1 and SRMSAT from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in a low earth orbit brought. It was a sub-satellite of Megha-Tropiques, which means that it was ejected in the course of its mission.
