Julia Kijowska (born October 8, 1981 in Warsaw ) is a Polish actress .

Life

Julia Kijowska is the daughter of the Polish director Janusz Kijowski . Her older brother is the Polish cameraman Jakub Kijowski. Her cousin is also the political activist Mateusz Kijowski . She successfully completed her acting studies in 2005 at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theater Academy in Warsaw . From 2006 to 2012 she was a member of the ensemble at the Warsaw Dramatic Theater and since 2013 she has been a permanent member of the Warsaw Teatr Ateneum .

In parallel to her theater career, she began to appear in Polish films from 2008. So she made her debut this year in the two dramas 0_1_0 and Boisko bezdomnych . For her portrayal of Agnieszka in the drama Jordgubbslandet , staged by Wiktor Ericsson in 2017 , she was awarded the Swedish Guldbagge film prize for best supporting actress .
