Julian Gorus

Julian Gorus (born January 15, 1978 in Varna , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian pianist.

Life

Julian Gorus first attended the music school in his hometown Varna; his piano teacher was Elisaveta Stoyanova. From 1999 to 2003 he completed postgraduate studies at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz with Wolfgang Schamschula. At the end of 2008 he passed the concert exam at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar under the direction of the pianist and then Rector Rolf-Dieter Arens . Julian Gorus has been teaching promising young artists for a number of years, and in 2011 they already won several first prizes in competitions. Julian Gorus has lived in Germany since 1998.

Julian Gorus received support and suggestions u. a. with Nikolaus Lahusen (Germany), András Hamary (Germany), Günter Ludwig (Germany), Paul van Ness (USA), Ferenc Rados (Hungary), Lilya Zilberstein (Russia), Peter Cossé (Austria), Germain Mounier (France), Prof. Hans Erik Deckert (Germany), Leslie Howard (Australia) and Jerome Rose (USA).

Recordings

In May 2011, a triple CD by Julian Gorus was released by Hänssler Verlag with a recording of the complete Années de Pèlerinage cycle by Franz Liszt. This recording was recorded at the MDR in Leipzig.
