Leslie Howard (born April 29, 1948 in Melbourne ) is an Australian concert pianist , composer and conductor .

Life

Howard has given piano recitals and concerts all over the world. His repertoire of more than 80 concerts spans the entire spectrum of piano literature from the time the instrument was made to today's music. Leslie Howard is a celebrated personality at numerous international festivals.

He is the only pianist to date to have recorded the entire piano works of Franz Liszt , with over 300 world premieres featuring pieces from unpublished Liszt manuscripts and pieces that have never been played after Liszt. In 2017 Howard received the Franz Liszt Prize of Honor from the Klassik Stiftung Weimar , making him the third recipient of the award after Alfred Brendel and Kurt Masur .
