Julianus (Alexandria)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Julianus († 189 ) was Bishop of Alexandria . His term of office is dated to the years 178 or 179 to 189, so it lies in the time of the reign of the emperors Mark Aurel and Commodus . Little is known about Julian; only with his successor Demetrius does the series of historically more precisely comprehensible bishops begin, about whom more than their mere name is known.
