Julien Leclercq

Joseph Louis Julien Leclercq (born May 16, 1865 in Armentières , France , † October 31, 1901 in Paris ) was a French poet and art critic .

Life

Julien Leclercq started working as a journalist in the late 1880s. So he wrote with his friend Albert Aurier for the Paris magazine Mercure de France . He was also responsible for Vincent van Gogh's obituary . He wrote, published books and became interested in art. He organized several exhibitions over the years.

Leclercq died unexpectedly in Paris on October 31, 1901. He was married to the Finnish pianist Fanny Flodin-Gustavson .
