Julio Hernán Rossi (born February 22, 1977 in Mar del Plata , Argentina ) is a retired Argentinian football player with Italian citizenship who spent most of his professional career in Switzerland . His position was in the storm.

Career

In 1996/97 he played at River Plate and scored one goal in eight games. He then moved to Japan for a year in 1997, to Avispa Fukuoka , where he played eleven games. After three games with River Plate in 1998, he moved to FC Lugano in 1998/1999 and played there until 2002.

In the summer of 2002, FC Basel bought it for two million Swiss francs . He had his greatest successes with Basel. He was Swiss Cup winner and twice Swiss champion . As only the second Swiss team ever, FC Basel was able to qualify for the Champions League in 2002 . Rossi scored 5 of the 17 goals for FC Basel in this competition. At that time he reached the second round with the team, in which FC Basel was eliminated only because of a worse goal difference.

In the winter of 2006 he moved to the French first division club FC Nantes and scored 4 goals in 36 games for the new club. When the relegation of FC Nantes became a fact at the end of the season, he decided, after consulting the club, to return to Switzerland.

On June 11, 2007, he signed in Neuchâtel a three-year contract with Neuchatel Xamax . In April 2010 he was demoted to the Neuchâtel U-21 squad. From July 2010 to July 2011 Rossi was without a club, in the 2011/12 season he played in the highest Swiss amateur league at FC Serrières .
