Julius Bermann

Julius Bermann (born May 1, 1868 in Bojanowitz near Slobitz , Kremsier district ; † January 7, 1943 in Theresienstadt ) was an Austrian trade unionist and social democratic councilor in Vienna.

Life

Julius Bermann was a co-founder of the Association of Commercial Employees in 1892 and from 1901 secretary of the assistant committee of the Viennese merchants' association. From 1918 to 1934 he was a member of the municipal council in Vienna. He was murdered in the Theresienstadt ghetto .

The Julius-Bermann-Hof community building in Vienna-Leopoldstadt, built from 1973 to 1975, was named after Julius Bermann, where a plaque commemorates him.
