Julius Prömmel
Julius Prömmel (also Prømmel, born February 22, 1812 in Hamburg-Wandsbek ; † May 5, 1870 in Trieste ) was a Danish-German marine painter and shipbuilder .
Prömel studied painting in Copenhagen from 1833 to 1844 under Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg , then he returned to Hamburg. In addition to painting, he also learned the craft of shipbuilding. Then he settled in Trieste, where he worked as a shipbuilder in the service of Austria. He also wrote manuals on shipbuilding.
Prömel created very few pictures, mostly depicting sailing ships.
