Jump (For My Love) is a 1984 Pointer Sisters song written by Stephen Mitchell, Marti Sharron, and Gary Skardina. It appeared on the album Break Out .
Originally the title was supposed to be called Jump , but since the Van Halen song Jump had previously been published, the title was changed to Jump (for My Love) to avoid confusion . The publication took place on May 7, 1984. In 1985, the song won the Grammy Awards for Best Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals - Pop ( Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ).
Most of the music video shows excerpts from a Pointer Sisters concert.
The play was also used in the films God's Forgotten Children , Love Actually, and in the episode 3x08 The Motion for the television series Suburgatory .
Version of Girls Aloud
The British girls' band Girls Aloud released Jump in 2003 as the fourth release from their debut album The Sound of the Underground . The single reached number 2 on the UK sales charts.
